COLDTUB™ is proud to present our partnership with the Peter Frates Family Foundation. Pete Frates has touched the hearts of many across the world spreading awareness for ALS. The ice bucket challenge is known by everyone. Pete Frates is a hero and is still inspiring us to bring more awareness around ALS and we want to continue his legacy and do our part. COLDTUB™ is extremely inspired by what the Frates family have accomplished and how courageous Pete was. COLDTUB™, like many others, has so many great stories to tell of Pete and the Frates family. The Burt family including Scott, Dawn, Declan, and Jake who all work vital roles at COLDTUB™ feel a very special connection to the Frates family and this cause. All of the Burt boys went to St John’s Prep where Pete attended high school. From St John's Preparatory High School in Danvers MA, to Boston College - both of Pete’s alma matters - the Frates presence was always felt. Jake and Declan had the pleasure of meeting Pete out at a football practice at St John’s and it never left our hearts. They both got to form a strong bond with him and his brother Andrew who worked at St John’s as well. After that, Declan went on to play football at Bowling Green University while Jake went on to Boston College to play football where his connection to the Frates only grew stronger. Pete’s presence was always felt very strongly and the entire Burt family felt such a great connection to the Frates and wanted to find a way to support their cause and their family. Jake had the opportunity while playing in the NFL for the Patriots to wear cleats in honor of Pete for the #MyCleatsMyCause which is a great week done by the NFL where all players wear special cleats designed to support a cause near and dear to their hearts. Jake and the entire Burt family were also able to donate $25,000.00 to the foundation through the Twitch Rivals event run by the NFL where all winnings were donated to a charity of choice. Of course the choice was easy. The Peter Frates Family Foundation.


Jake and Declan joined their father Scott Burt who has been running COLDTUB™ since 2007 when their playing careers came to an end. Recently, since joining COLDTUB™, another opportunity to support Pete arose. We received a call from Mike Pitt and Matt Sullivan, both St John's Prep grads, with the idea to be a part of the 10th anniversary of the #ALSIceBucketChallenge to StrikeoutALS. We were honored by the call and quickly started brainstorming. We are so excited to join hands with them again and designed a custom COLDTUB™ to help kickoff the 10th Anniversary of the Ice Bucket Challenge. We are also very excited to announce that 3% of all proceeds from purchases of the COLDTUB™ in for the whole month of August will go directly to the Peter Frates Foundation.
